So, what's been happening?

The world of Partial Reptile, it hasn't been anywhere near as quiet as it's seemed lately. I've been back in the studio working on the new EP Pseudomusic. It's coming on nicely, thanks for asking. There's two tracks that are still being worked on, but after that we mix, then master, then press, upload, that kind of thing.

Something has to go wrong soon though, because it's very unlikely I'll actually get something out on time. Hopefully not though.

The video (yes the one I started months ago) is also nearing completion, in fact that should be doing the rounds in the next week or so.

All in all, most of my time is going into Pseudomusic at the moment, getting this and that together. downloadmusic.ie has just announced they're upgrading to multi-track ability in the next few weeks, so I'll probably look that direction as a digital retailer, iTunes are just really pissing me off lately and I like dm's proactive approach.

More soon.

Tripple-Ouch!

Please do not ask me if theis is real or not, cause I haven't got a fucken clue.

Ouch!

Be careful what you say, hey?

Is it funny? Or is it just Sad?

Unless you've been living in a cave over the last while (or indeed, not online) you'll have seen the strange dude (yes, it is a dude) who decided to rant (quite emotionally) about the press' treatment of Britney Spears after her supposidly rubbish performance at the VMA's the other night. (I YouTubed it, and it was only as unimagineative, dull and just plain shit as it ever was, so I don't get the hype). Anyway, this guy's done a follow up, and yes he has included the offer we were all waiting for last time; to throw himself of a building. Lets all sign a petition and give him the encouragement he needs. It really is sad, but I can't decide if it's also a little funny (as in the HaHa way) or if it's just plain sad.
If you've ever thought you might be a bit on the strange side (intentionally or otherwise), then here's proof that in the grand scheme of things you're Joe Bloggs.

LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE! pt.1

TV on the Radio

Just Picked up 'Desperate Youths, Bloodthirsty Babes', sublime album. Loads more stuff on YouTube, and they've a pretty cool session on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic.

Peter Murphy

Not enough people seem to know about this guy, excellent, EXCELLENT artist with a long and varied catalogue behind him. I'd suggest getting your hands on 'Cascade' or 'Unshattered' my personal favourites of his releases.

Spaceman

Anyone remember this?, great song, don't care what anyone says...

Jackie Hayden Review

Jackie Hayden said a few positive thing about the album:

"From the opposite end of the music spectrum come Partial Reptile, mainly the work of S. Gavin and his / their album of Industrial Lullabies came with a crayon, which could come in handy. Some day. The instrumental 'The Butterfly Killers' takes the electronic bleeping of the genre, and drowns it in a toxic noise dump. 'Isolation in Pain' adds a breathy spoken vocal to the noise of relentless machinery conjuring up the film Metropolis, while 'Wound, co-written by the inestimable SJ McArdle, mixes a proper tune with sinister sounds. Partial Reptile has / have a greater sense of musical rebellion in one track than most indie bands can muster in a career. You won't hear much or any of this on the radio, so you better filch it off their website."

Video Shoot

Did a video shoot for the new single recently. It's not as strange as it looks, honestly, no really! Okay it's a little strange. Should have an actual finished video in a couple of weeks. For now, have a few photos on me...
